Hibiscus syriacus Van Gogh

Have you always wanted a real Van Gogh?
The plant was found in Zundert, The Netherlands; the place where Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853. Like this painter’s canvas, this plant strikes because of its surprising combination of colours. It is a real piece of art by Mother Nature. This plant is easy to take care of and suitable for every garden or terrace.

Origin
About 150 years after Vincent van Gogh was born in the Dutch village  of Zundert, nurseryman Toon van Aert discovered this Hibiscus. It is a mutant of Hibiscus syr. Ardens.

Characteristics
It is a deciduous, grafted shrub with green leaves and cream-coloured borders. From July till September it flourishes abundantly with a lilac flower and a red heart. The plant branches well.

Maintenance
This easy plant prefers a place with a moderate amount of sunlight.  It is winter-proof and does not need to be pruned, but if wanted, the plant can be kept compact by pruning in the winter.
